For students:
November 6, 3–5:30pm | Post-Election Recovery Lounge
The Office of Student Belonging and Inclusion will host a Post-Election Recovery Lounge in the Multicultural Resource Center from 3 to 5:30 pm in the Main Building, Room E3. All are welcome to enjoy warm beverages, snacks, aroma therapy, and other self-care activities. No politics will be discussed during this event.
November 19, 7–8:30pm | Voices: A CCA Community Open Mic Night
The CCA student community presents VOICES, a night of artistic expression and reflection. VOICES will be a safe space held between fellow students, friends and peers, open to all forms of heartfelt storytelling. Whether it be critical commentary our current social, political or economic climate, or a tale from your upbringing that was impactful to you, we implore you to share your unique experiences. Join us at the CCA Campus Gallery at 1480 17th Street—Goat Hill pizza will be served.

Presented by the Staff Advisory Committee in collaboration with the University of Michigan. Speakers will provide insight on how to navigate political conversations during and following presidential election season across college campuses. Register Here

We have all heard how important it is to “put our oxygen masks on first” before supporting others. Staff and faculty are often called to be a support system when our own support is needed. The Staff Advisory Committee and Human Resources are pleased to offer post-election stress support sessions through Claremont, for our community following the events of last week. Students in Kim Anno's Fall 2024 Citizens, Artists, Designers, Journalists course invite you to join them for an afternoon of discussion to understand what happened in the United States Election in 2024. What your thoughts going forward for the nation? Join us on Zoom

Where do we go from here? TAKE ACTION highlights artists who are providing a roadmap to creative activism by creating work about the issues they care about most. Artists include Arleene Correa Valencia, Chris Johnson and Hank Willis Thomas, Maia Kobabe, Michele Pred, Michael Wertz, Neeraj Bhatia / THE OPEN WORKSHOP, Sarah Bird, and Sita Kuratomi Bhaumik. The Novack Gallery is located on the second floor of the Simpson Family Makers Building and is open Wednesday 11am–7pm and Thursday–Friday 11am–4pm.
November 20, 11am–12pm | Where do we go from here? Roundtable Discussion with The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will be coming to the CCA Campus Gallery (1480 17th Street) for a roundtable discussion on "Where do we go from here", the 2024 - 2025 theme for the Creative Citizens in Action event series. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is a charitable and activist organization founded in 1979 with chapters all over the world. They are all about promoting social justice, human rights, and the well-being of marginalized communities. Through this interactive roundtable discussion, the hope is that The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and students will have the opportunity to engage in discourse around post-election events and collectively envision strategies for the future on civic engagement that prioritizes creativity, compassion, empathy, and justice. There will be free food for attendees along with raffle prizes.
