How To Submit the 2024–25 FAFSA Form if Your Contributor Doesn't Have an SSN
Currently, there are issues preventing contributors without a Social Security number (SSN) from starting or accessing the 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. Until it’s resolved, you (the student) can follow the steps here to submit your form if you have a contributor without an SSN.
The Department of Education has also created a listserv for students and families impacted by these issues to sign-up for regular updates on the FAFSA.
