About
Discover the Practice of Contemporary Ceramics
In our Ceramics Program you’ll explore everything from cultural objects and traditions to functional ware and industrial applications. You’ll establish your voice as an artist by combining influences from the world around you with personal identity and symbolism to graduate with a body of work that matters.
A Creative Community at Your Fingertips
At CCA you’ll study under diverse artists, from a four-time NEA grant recipient to an activist who uses ceramics to effect social and environmental change. You’ll develop a variety of approaches to both technique and concept, while studying across disciplines with courses in Printmaking, Sculpture, and Glass. Working in a two-story, light-filled building with generous studios, you’ll have all the tools you need to become a respected artist.
Shape Your Future
Beyond the classroom and into the professional world, opportunities to showcase your craft are all around. Connect with our network of notable alumni to build your future in ceramics at artist collectives, galleries, or teaching positions. Whether you’re exhibiting or using your talents to make an impact in the global community, you’ll be working toward a creative career in the arts.
