Current Students, Faculty, and Staff, with a personal respirator, may access the Chemical Casting Room 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when the building is open. Please refer to the academic calendar for any building closures due to holidays or events.

The Chemical Casting room (room D127) can be found on the first floor of Double Ground.
Current Students, Faculty, and Staff, with a personal respirator rated for organic vapors, may access the Chemical Casting studio 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when the building is open.
Due to academic program needs and the large volume of students that this space supports, CCA Shops are not available to alumni at this time.
About the Fabrication: Chemical Casting Room
The Chemical Casting room is an open-access space for making and utilizing molds which may include materials like Resin, Silicone, Alginate, and Epoxy.
Note: Personal respirators rated for organic vapors are required to be used while working in the Chemical Casting studio. These cannot be checked out from the Tool Center.
Respirators are available at Arch, SF Paint Source, or other local retailers.
** Spray Adhesives and Polyurethane Expandable Foams are not allowed anywhere on CCA campus. **
The Chemical Casting room also has flame-proof storage for casting and mold making materials, these can be used by the CCA community, please label your items. There are dedicated waste drums for contaminated rags and fabrication materials. Please ask Studio Management if there are any questions. Studio staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
